Sacred Anthology
Mission & About
Our Mission
Sacred Anthology exists to unite people across faiths and inspire learning by making the world's sacred texts accessible, comparable, and better understood.
About Sacred Anthology
We built Sacred Anthology because too many people see other faiths as foreign, or even as enemies, when in truth we share far more than we realize. The world's great traditions were meant to give us a moral compass and help us understand one another, yet religion is too often used to divide us. Sacred Anthology gathers thousands of years of sacred writing from traditions around the world and places them side by side, so you can deepen your own faith, explore someone else's, and see for yourself where we meet. We don't tell you what to believe. We give you the texts themselves and trust you to draw your own conclusions. Our hope is simple: that understanding where someone comes from will build relationships that once seemed impossible, and bring a divided world a little closer together.
What We Stand For
- Unity over division. United we stand, divided we fall. Every feature is built to help people of different faiths understand each other.
- The texts speak for themselves. We let you read the actual verses and books, not our interpretation of them. You reach your own conclusions.
- Respect for every tradition. No faith is ranked above another. Each is presented with the same care and dignity.
- For everyone. Whether you're deepening your own faith, studying, comparing traditions or reaching out to a neighbor, there's a place for you here.
- Mission before profit. Your membership keeps Sacred Anthology ad-free and independent, and pays to keep it running and keep growing the library. We'll keep it focused on bringing people together, and keep it as accessible as we can.
